The Ocean is at the Heart of Our Brand
For us, prioritising and preserving the environment is key, putting an end to plastic pollution. Each year 12 million tonnes of plastic end up in the ocean, polluting our precious environment and potentially causing extinction to sea creatures worldwide.
We are passionate about protecting the ocean and saving the ecosystem. This commitment isn't just words, it's woven into every thread of our swimwear.

CERTIFIED FOR SUSTAINABILITY
We Don't Claim Sustainability, We Certify It
Conscious fashion for environmental change. We are passionate about creating more sustainable ways of producing sustainable garments, so we have opted to use recycled materials. We produce fewer products, but better quality.
Our swimwear is made from recycled fabric made with SEAQUAL® YARN which contains upcycled marine plastic. This, and our sustainable ethos, is what sets us apart. Our pieces are designed to be worn season after season.
What Makes Us Sustainable:
Recycled Materials Throughout
- The zippers are made from recycled materials and are recyclable
- The packaging sleeves are made in the same material as your swimwear to avoid the use of plastic
Circular Economy Commitment
At Aima Dora, we are committed to reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Any leftover materials are given a second life through our textile keyring creations, crafted by local artisans.

SEAQUAL YARN is One of the Most Certified Environmentally Friendly Fabrics
Transforming ocean plastic into premium swimwear
We are proud to promote the work of SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, who create SEAQUAL® YARN from SEAQUAL® MARINE PLASTIC. This means our swimwear is 100% SEAQUAL INITIATIVE certified, made entirely from upcycled marine plastic.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE is committed to cleaning the rubbish from our oceans, changing attitudes towards the environment and putting the SEA into sustainability. Their SEAQUAL® YARN is one of the most certified environmentally friendly fabrics to be found in the world, partnering with fishermen everywhere to capture marine plastic then upcycle it into the fabric that we use in our atelier.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE works with partners around the world to transform marine litter into a new, fully traceable and sustainable raw material.
Sharing sustainable swimwear created from regenerated SEAQUAL® YARN and combining comfort with conscience.

ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon: Luxury That Never Ends
From ghost nets on the ocean floor to the piece crafted just for you
Where SEAQUAL rescues what floats on the surface, ECONYL® goes deeper. Literally.
We are proud to use ECONYL® regenerated nylon in our atelier, a material born from one of the most sophisticated closed-loop systems in the world. Developed by Aquafil, ECONYL® begins its life as waste that has been abandoned, lost, or discarded: ghost fishing nets retrieved from ocean floors by volunteer divers, industrial fabric scraps diverted from landfill, and old carpets destined for incineration. Materials that, without intervention, would quietly poison the earth for centuries.
What happens next is where ECONYL® becomes truly remarkable. Rather than simply melting waste down, Aquafil applies an advanced chemical recycling process that depolymerises nylon waste all the way back to its original molecular state. The result is brand-new nylon, indistinguishable in quality and performance from nylon made from raw crude oil, but produced without a single new barrel of it.
And crucially, this process has no end. ECONYL® regenerated nylon can be recollected and regenerated again and again, infinitely, without any degradation in quality. The swimwear you wear today could, one day, become something new entirely. That is not recycling. That is a circular economy in its truest form.
Today, ECONYL® is trusted by almost 2,000 brands worldwide, from Stella McCartney to leading performance sportswear labels. At Aima Dora, we choose it because we believe that what a garment is made of matters just as much as how it is made.
